Hardline Republicans seek to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy
The hardline Republican said he would try to unseat House Speaker Kevin McCarthy this week after pushing through a last-minute budget bill with support from Democratic opposition.
McCarthy introduced a bill against his party's right that was intended to prevent a government shutdown.
They have already promised to overthrow him if he tries to defeat their opposition with democratic support.

Radical Republicans in both houses of Congress voted against the proposal.

Republicans control the House of Representatives and Democrats have a slim majority in the Senate.
On Sunday, Rep. Matt Gaetz vowed to impeach McCarthy and told CNN that House Republicans need “trusted” leadership.
“I plan to introduce a motion this week calling for the resignation of President McCarthy”; said Gaetz, a longtime critic of the California congressman. “I think we need to move forward with new and reliable leadership. »
The Florida congressman, one of the party's most right-wing members and a loyal ally of former President Donald Trump, has been threatening for weeks to force a vote on McCarthy's future.
Like other far-right Republicans in the Freedom Caucus, Gaetz refused to support McCarthy's subsequent budgets, insisting on significant spending cuts and an end to new military aid to Ukraine.
